Ectopic pregnancy is a medical condition where a fertilized egg implants and begins to grow outside the uterus, the natural site for fetal development. Most commonly, this occurs in the fallopian tubes, earning it the name “tubal pregnancy.”
However, ectopic pregnancies can also occur in other locations such as the ovary, cervix, abdominal cavity, or the C-section scar. This condition is a serious concern as the structures outside the uterus are not designed to accommodate a growing embryo, potentially leading to severe complications and maternal health risks.
